"Tokusatsu (特撮) is a Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and/or monsters and makes considerable use of special effects (tokusatsu literally translates as "special filming" in Japanese).  These include some of the most popular "Kaiju" characters like Godzilla and Gamera...as well as popular hero characters like Ultraman and Spectreman...or Giant Robo ( Johnny Soko & his flying Robot)."


I'm so glad to participate in this wonderful show! Here is my artwork, Space Cadet Akane in Danger! They are characters from Captain Ultra, a Japanese science fiction space adventure TV series in 1960's.

9月15日からロサンジェルスのQ Popで始まる「特撮」展に参加します！
世界中から75人以上のアーティストが、日本の「特撮」テーマの作品を出品するのですごく楽しみです。

私は、60年代にTVで放映されてた「キャプテンウルトラ」をテーマに選びました。当時の番組は観てはいないんですが、この↓緑のバンデル星人があまりにも衝撃的だったので作りたかったのでした。 変質者ｼﾞｬﾅｲです。

ちなみに一番下に貼ったオープニングの動画の主題歌がかっこいい（音楽は冨田勲）。
キャプテンウルトラが敵をとっちめた後の顔は「ドヤ顔世界選手権大会」があったら間違いなくチャンピオンになれるくらい素晴しいです。
そしてこの恥ずかしい格好をしてる宇宙人は小林稔侍。
